Will Smith has confirmed his plans for a sequel to his popular movie I Am Legend, where he's partnering up with Michael B. Jordan on this exciting project. During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Smith mentioned that he and Jordan have been working together on some incredible ideas for this film.
The original film, inspired by Richard Matheson's classic book, hit theaters in 2007, depicting the story of a virologist named Robert Neville, played by Smith, surviving in a world affected by a lethal virus post-apocalypse. Fans had mixed feelings about the movie's ending, some preferring the scene where Neville dies and others leaning towards the alternate ending where he survives.
For the upcoming sequel, Smith has disclosed that it will carry on from the DVD version where his character lives, presenting audiences with new dimensions to the storyline. The movie will be set a few decades after the occurrences in the first film, offering a fresh outlook on the world post-outbreak.
Michael B. Jordan, renowned for his roles in Black Panther and Creed, has received accolades from Smith who referred to him as "the truth," underscoring the anticipation surrounding their collaboration on the sequel. The fans can anticipate compelling performances from these two skilled actors as they breathe life into the next episode of the I Am Legend series.
Akiva Goldsman, the writer who composed the original movie and is handling the sequel for Warner Bros., has assured that the new film will adhere to the essence of the initial one while exploring novel and thrilling plots.
