Arkane Austin to Release Final Offline Update for Redfall

Nathan Lees

Arkane Austin has announced that they will be releasing one final update for the game, which will include the highly anticipated feature of offline play. This update, known as Game Update 4, will bring a host of improvements, including a revamped Neighborhood and Nest systems, Single Player Pausing, Offline Mode, and more.

There were concerns that this update might not see the light of day after Microsoft's decision to close down Arkane Austin. However, Redfall confirmed on X that the update is indeed in the works, much to the delight of players eagerly awaiting these new additions to the game.

While the exact release date for Game Update 4 has not been confirmed yet, fans can rest assured that Arkane Austin is dedicated to improving the game and providing a better gaming experience for all players.

For those who may not be familiar, Redfall initially required a persistent online connection even for single-player gameplay. However, following feedback from the community, Arkane Studios started looking into removing this requirement to allow solo players to enjoy the game offline. This upcoming update is the culmination of those efforts and will finally bring offline play to Redfall.

Despite a somewhat underwhelming reception at launch, Bethesda's head of publishing, Pete Hines, has reassured fans that they are committed to turning Redfall into a great game. With promises of further optimizations, including achieving 60 frames per second, players can look forward to a more polished and enjoyable gaming experience in the future.
