Cloud Imperium reportedly restructures, resulting in layoff of some Star Citizen developers

Cloud Imperium Games, the studio behind Star Citizen, is reportedly undergoing staff reductions. Noted by Massively Overpowered, a series of high-ranking employees have recently parted ways with the company. Amidst this restructuring, Dane Kubicka, former Level Designer at Cloud Imperium Games, disclosed his layoff on LinkedIn.

Vincent Sinatra, formerly Cloud Imperium's QA manager, also confirmed his job termination after 8.5 years with the company. Similarly, senior QA Analyst Andrew Rexroth announced his voluntary exit, despite his wish to continue with the firm. Other notable departures within this month include Live Game Director Todd Papy, Lead Producer Jake Ross, Assistant Design Director Dan Trufin, and Producer Annie Bouffard.

Allegedly, this influx of exits may be due to Cloud Imperium's desire for staff to shift to a new office in Manchester, England, though this has not been officially confirmed.

Originally, Star Citizen was introduced through a Kickstarter campaign towards the end of 2012, procuring $2.1 million at the time. Although the game remains in its 'alpha' state several years later, it has maintained a steady revenue flow through crowdfunding, amassing over $500 million as of today.
