Helldivers 2's Latest Update Tackles Bugs and Sets Stage for Server Enhancements

Arrowhead Game Studios recently deployed a significant update for Helldivers 2 on both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms. This patch not only addresses a slew of bugs within the game but also lays the groundwork for forthcoming enhancements aimed at improving server stability, including disconnect issues, player capacity, and more.

The announcement came directly from Arrowhead's CEO, Johan Pilestedt, via a tweet that highlighted the patch's focus on matchmaking resolutions and preparations for heightened server demand. "Patch going out now," Pilestedt announced, "Highlights include resolved matchmaking and prep for increased server load. Let’s gooo!"

While the patch successfully rectifies various crashing scenarios and enhances backend operations for smoother performance, it stops short of solving all existing problems. Notably, login rate limiting and in-game disconnects remain unaddressed but are promised to be tackled in upcoming updates.

Detailed Fixes in Patch 1.000.10:

  • Resolved crashes related to ragdoll momentum, destruction replication, and mission end reward displays.
  • Fixed a 100% block issue affecting quickplay matchmaking on PC.
  • Adjusted the difficulty of extract civilian missions.
  • Enhanced platform authentication processes to mitigate startup black screen issues.
  • Improved client-backend communication for enhanced backend performance.
  • Introduced an automatic retry mechanism for quickplay.
  • Implemented a clear login error message for the specific error "10002038."

Ongoing and Known Issues:

These are issues that were either introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or are from a previous version and have not yet been fixed.

  • Login rate limiting when many are logging in at the same time.
  • Players can become disconnected during play.
  • Rewards and other progress may be delayed or not attributed.
  • Various UI issues may appear when the game interacts with servers.
  • Pick-up of certain objects in-game may cause characters to freeze in place for an extended period of time.
  • Other unknown behaviors may occur.
  • Japanese VO is missing from intro cutscene and Ship TV.
  • Armor values for light/medium/heavy armor do not currently function as intended.
