Unexpected by many enthusiasts of the series, EA has laid out a detailed roadmap for NFS Unbound that extends all the way to December 2024. This roadmap includes season passes, various events, and enhancements aimed at improving the overall quality of life for the game.
EA's latest blog post sheds light on several new volumes set to be released throughout 2024, ensuring that fans of Need for Speed Unbound have plenty to look forward to. The lineup begins with a volume developed in collaboration with Audi, focusing on head-to-head competitions. Following this, the Drift & Drag volume draws inspiration from NFS Underground, celebrating one of the franchise's most beloved retro titles.
In August, players can anticipate the Cops vs. Racers volume, inspired by the thrilling chases of NFS Hot Pursuit. Although details about the fourth volume, scheduled for October, remain under wraps, the excitement within the community is palpable.
This year-long live service venture is also an opportunity for the developers to deepen their understanding of what fans expect from live services. By engaging with a dedicated Player Council, consisting of NFS influencers, core community members, and avid players, EA aims to gather valuable feedback and tailor the game's development accordingly.
Each volume promises to introduce a significant mode and/or feature, alongside new vehicles and customization options, all bundled with a 'speed pass'—a modern take on the traditional season or battle pass. EA and Criterion are fully committed to revitalizing NFS Unbound with fresh content and experiences for at least another year.
