Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection Studio Admits to 'Critical Errors' During Release

Nathan Lees

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection has recently launched, but the release has been met with a storm of negative feedback from players.

Players took to various platforms like X, Reddit, and the game's Steam page, where it currently holds a disappointing user rating of only 19% positive.

One of the major issues reported by users was the lack of available servers, with only a few servers initially being able to accommodate the large player base. This led to frustration as many players were unable to access certain modes of the game.

Despite attempts to add more servers after the launch, players continued to face problems such as bugs, stuttering, and even instances where weapons did not register damage on opponents.

Aspyr, the studio behind the game, has recognized the problems and issued a statement on the official support page addressing the issues. They acknowledged the network infrastructure errors that led to high ping, matchmaking problems, crashes, and server visibility issues.

The statement from Aspyr reads, "We’ve been working to address these issues and increase network stability to prevent further outages. We appreciate the Battlefront community's feedback and support as we strive to improve the gaming experience."

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection boasts content from the original 2004 game and its sequel, offering solo campaigns, local multiplayer matches, and online battles with up to 64 players, given the server availability.

If you encounter any bugs or issues while playing the game, you can report them to Aspyr's support team here.
