Stellar Blade Goes Gold: Release Date, Price, and Updates

Nathan Lees

Shift Up has just announced that their thrilling third-person action game, Stellar Blade, has officially gone gold! The exciting news was shared with fans through a post on the social media platform X.

In the post, the studio shared a picture of the talented development team and captioned it with, "We're a little late with this post, GONE GOLD." This means that the primary development work on Stellar Blade has been completed, and the game is now ready to be manufactured onto discs for retail sale. Any additional work will come in the form of pre-launch or day one patches.

Even though the main development work is finished, Shift Up is still working hard to iron out any remaining kinks in Stellar Blade. Director Kim Hyung-Tae has confirmed that a day one patch will be released with "some updates." Day one patches typically address any lingering bugs or issues that were discovered after the game went gold.

Stellar Blade is set to release on PS5 on April 26th and will be priced at $70. Players will take on the role of Airborne Squad member Eve as she battles the Naytiba on Earth. The game promises around 25 hours of gameplay for the main story, with additional playtime for those who want to search for collectibles. And if that's not enough, a New Game Plus mode and new costumes will be introduced in post-launch updates!
