Escape from Tarkov's recent mega patch (0.14) has introduced significant changes that are redefining the gameplay experience. Among these updates, the adjustments to the BTR (an Armored Personnel Carrier) on the Streets of Tarkov map stand out as a particularly impactful development.
The BTR has been transformed into more than just a vehicle roaming the Streets of Tarkov. It now offers a range of services, including a much-appreciated 'mobile stash' feature. This allows players to deposit items found during raids for safekeeping, a function that has been fine-tuned in the latest update.
Key Changes to the BTR:
- Reduced Fees: The cost to deposit items in the BTR has been lowered, addressing player concerns about the high expense.
- Cell Structure Adjustments: The number of cells available for item storage now varies based on the player's 'Fence rep', a reputation level linked to the in-game 'Fence' trader character. The structure is as follows:
- 0 – 1 Rep: 10 Cells
- 1 – 2 Rep: 12 Cells
- 2 – 3 Rep: 15 Cells
- 3 – 4 Rep: 18 Cells
- 4 – 5 Rep: 20 Cells
- 5 – 6 Rep: 24 Cells
- 6+ Rep: 28 Cells
Achieving a higher Fence rep, which can be done through successful Scav raids, cooperative exfils, or using the paid 'taxi service', rewards players with more storage space in the BTR. This makes the grind worthwhile, especially for those frequenting the Streets of Tarkov.
The community has welcomed these changes, praising them as a quality-of-life improvement. The reduced fees and adjusted cell structure make the BTR more accessible and useful, enhancing the overall gaming experience on the Streets of Tarkov.
