The highly anticipated World of Warcraft expansion, The War Within, is set to launch later this year and players can now sign up for beta testing to get a sneak peek at what’s in store.
Announced at BlizzCon last November, The War Within is the first of three expansions that make up the epic Worldsoul Saga. This new chapter in the World of Warcraft story promises to celebrate 20 years of the game while paving the way for a new era in Azeroth.
According to Blizzard, players can expect to explore never-before-seen underground realms, befriend the new Earthen allied race, and confront a long-forgotten evil that lurks in the shadows. The beta testing phase is your chance to experience these new features firsthand and provide valuable feedback to the developers.

While the official launch date for The War Within has yet to be confirmed, Blizzard has hinted at a release window of late summer or early autumn. However, based on the beta sign-up announcement, the expansion is expected to be available on or before December 31, 2024.
In addition to The War Within, Blizzard also recently revealed the release date for World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic. With a pre-expansion patch set to drop on April 30 and the launch of Cataclysm Classic scheduled for May 20, there’s plenty of content on the horizon for WoW players.
Just like with previous Classic expansions, such as Burning Crusade Classic and Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Cataclysm Classic will be accessible to all players with an active WoW subscription. So, whether you’re a seasoned veteran of Azeroth or a newcomer looking to explore the roots of the game, there’s something for everyone in the World of Warcraft universe.
