Nacon, the acclaimed video game developer, has divulged further details about its eagerly anticipated Terminator survival game, set to go by the official title of Terminator: Survivors. Early access for the game on Steam is slated to launch on October 24, with console versions following sometime later. The development reins have been handed over to Nacon Studio Milan, the team known for their involvement in Rims Racing and TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3.
Terminator: Survivors will immerse players into an open-world survival experience, deeply ingrained in the universe of the first two cinematic installments. The narrative of the game picks up where the second film left off. Judgement Day has occurred, with Skynet progressively gaining control.
Nacon’s preview hints at the intense gameplay players can anticipate: "Following the sequel, this unique narrative sees you guiding a band of Judgement Day survivors. Alone or collaboratively, players must navigate and overcome the numerous challenges posed by a post-apocalyptic world." The persistent threat from Skynet's machines compounds the danger, along with potential conflicts with other survivors competing for resources.
Nacon first made public its plans for this game in July 2022, sharing its passion for the '80s movie blockbusters and revealing that its Nacon Studio Milan team was working on creating the first survival game inspired by the Terminator franchise.
Known for their successful adaptations of iconic '80s action movies into engaging video games, Nacon showcased this prowess with last year's release of Teyon's RoboCop: Rogue City.
