The servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 have been officially taken offline forever. What was initially a temporary takedown in January due to pesky technical issues has now resulted in the game being ‘decommissioned’, as listed on PlayStation’s site. Sumo Digital, the team behind the game, made a tough decision to keep the servers offline indefinitely.
The team at LittleBigPlanet took to Twitter to share ‘an important message’ with the community. They explained that ongoing technical issues led to the permanent shutdown of the servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 on PS4. This means that all online services, including access to other players’ creations, are no longer available. However, any user-generated content stored locally on your PS4 will still be accessible.

Although you won’t be able to share your new creations or play online, the offline features like the campaign will remain playable. The team expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received over the years and thanked the community for their love.
The End of an Era
With the servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 offline forever, this marks the end of the road for the beloved franchise. Since 2014, there haven’t been any main titles under the LittleBigPlanet name, only spin-offs that didn’t quite capture the magic of the original series. The fans, who have been with the franchise since its inception on PlayStation 3 in 2008, are understandably disappointed by this news.
Many are now hoping for a revelation of LittleBigPlanet 4 to bring back the joy and creativity that the series has always been known for.
